It Only Has to Get Better From Here….

So we had our first attempt at Christmas Sunday night.  Pate woke up very wheezy, but in a great mood and full of energy.  His Mommy has been sick for three days now and couting, but willing to give it a go.

The day went well with decent naps and good attitudes until company arrived.  In the middle of making a quick dinner, Pate seemed very lethargic.  On second look he is a bit dusky and retracting:-(  Off to Cook’s we go!  Thank goodness we could leave Aggie here in more than capable hands.

They took one look at him and ushered us back.  He sounded just AWFUL and was a bit blue around the mouth.  After three breathing treatments and a chest x-ray, the doctor decided we could go home (it was touch and go for a while as to whether or not we were going to stay) with a nebulizer.  He has had round the clock treatments since and I can start to here him now as I type (and build a tower of blocks) so it looks like we are off to do another round.  He seems to feel alright and managed to flirt with EVERY nurse around.

So, Christmas can only get better from here!  Sweet Punkin’!

Is that not the saddest little picture ever?  It really does make me incredibely thankful for the healthy kiddos in my life, though.  I can’t imagine some of the families that I work with and see on a daily basis trying to brave it through the season and the year.  Here is to adding a quick prayer to my list….

Oh, I’m so glad he’s feeling better. That would be so scary! Have a Merry Christmas, you guys!
